The Patriarch and Matriarch of the Navarro Clan

mamang & papang Vicente Arenas Navarro or Papa Enteng as he is fondly called by his grandchildren was born on July 19, 1919 at San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was separated early from his parents and migrated to Cavite City at a very young tender age. There he was educated and met his future wife, Enriqueta "King" Ventura. After they were married, Papang engaged in various menial works. His final employer until his retirement was Squires Bingham Manufacturing Company located at Parang, Marikina. After retirement, he spent most of his time taking care of Mamang. Both Papang and Mamang migrated to the United States to spend some time with their children Mely and Gene as well as with their grandchildren. After suffering a stroke, Papang came back to the Philippines on June 28, 1999 under the care of his youngest son, Teddy. Papang became bedridden after 2 years and passed away in his sleep on October 2, 2006.

Enriqueta Ventura Navarro or Mamang King to her grandchildren was born on July 15, 1910. She was the eldest among the 6 children of Eligio Ventura and Amada Pascual. Mamang had 2 children by her first marriage, Benjamin Medina and Adelia Medina Ponon, both of which already passed away. She finished her BS Elementary Education Degree from the Cosmopolitan College. She was assigned to different schools in the Philippines, the last of which was Caridad Elementary School were she retired. Mamang was known to her former students as a disciplinarian but was very much loved by them. Mamang saw to it that all her children finished their college education even the combined family income was barely enough for the daily needs of her family. After work from school, she still has to tend to her piggery business (only a couple of pigs) to augment the income of the family. She finally achieved her goal when Mely graduated as a Doctor of Medicine, Gene as a Nurse, and Teddy as an Electrical Engineer. She then migrated to the US ahead of Papang to realize one of her dreams, that is to see the United States, and to be cared for by her 2 daugthers (Mely and Gene) and to be close to her beloved grandchildren. She passed away of a heart failure on May 15, 1988. To her children, she is the "Greatest Mother" in the world.

Papang and Mamang were bestowed with 4 children; Rafaelito the first child was born on June 28, 1942 but was taken back by God on April 30, 1950 soon after graduation from elementary school; Carmelita born on April 26, 1944; Milna Gene on April 6, 1946; and the last Teodorico Romulo on October 27, 1948. Both Carmelita and Milna are living with their families in the United States while Tedd chose to remain in the Philippines with his own family.
